In the summer, this section provides updated
route condition information for select canyons and popular trails in Grand Teton
National Park. Please be aware that many mountain passes remain
snow-covered throughout most of the summer season. The ability to properly use an ice axe and/or crampons may be required. Depending on experience, this may necessitate a change in itinerary to avoid such areas. July and August are peak visitation months in the Teton backcountry. Come prepared with multiple itinerary options in case your first campsite choices are not available or consider another time of year when there are fewer people.
Groups greater than 6 are required to camp in designated Group Sites.
Climbing and mountaineering are inherently dangerous pursuits. This website is not a substitute for good judgment. Route conditions and photos will be updated whenever possible, but ulimately the responsibility rests with you and your partners while in the Tetons.
PLEASE STOP IN AND SEE US AT THE JENNY LAKE RANGER STATION WHEN YOU'RE IN TOWN, OR GIVE US A CALL AT 307.739.3343, 8-5PM MST DURING THE PEAK OF THE SUMMER.
